Herman Schultz, better known as Shocker, is a Marvel Comics villain who first appeared in The Amazing Spider-Man #46 (1967). He's a burglar and engineer who created a pair of vibro-shock gauntlets after serving time in prison. These gauntlets allow him to project powerful vibrational blasts.

Shocker's quilted costume is designed to withstand the force of his own shockwaves. He is generally considered a mid-tier threat, often hired as muscle by other, more powerful villains. Despite his lack of super-strength or agility, Shocker's gauntlets make him a dangerous opponent.

Though lacking in high-level intellect, Shocker's technical skills make him a proficient engineer, able to maintain and modify his equipment. He has remained a consistent, if not always central, antagonist in Spider-Man's rogues gallery.
